Larson Powell

Larson Powell is Professor of Film and Director of the Humanities Consortium at the University of Missouri –Kansas City. He has published three books, two on German literature and film (The Technological Unconscious, 2008; The Differentiation of Modernism, 2013), and one on the East German (DEFA) director Konrad Wolf(Archive of the Revolution, 2020), and edited two volumes, one on classical music in East Germany and one on German television. He has published, lectured and taught on German and French literature; German, Scandinavian and Eastern European filmand film music theory (with a special focus on Poland); musicology;and the work of Theodor Adorno, in Europe and the US. In 2016 he was DAAD Visiting University Professor of film at the University of Mainz.
